Cold rolled sheet steel

Cold rolled steel sheet produced:

  • By unraveling cold-rolled coils on special transverse or combined cutting units, followed by straightening, packaging and marking of the finished cold sheet.
  • During sheet processing of hot-rolled semi-finished products on irreversible states of cold rolling. In this case, hot-rolled coils are used as the initial billet, which are pre-cut into sheets. The cold-rolled steel sheet is subjected to batch digestion and then cold-formed in rolling rolls to obtain a thinner cold-rolled sheet.

Application of cold rolled sheet

The main areas of consumption of cold-rolled steel sheet are construction, engineering, automotive, household appliances and consumer goods.

Cold-rolled steel sheet in the construction industry is mainly used for the manufacture of metal structures, bent closed and open profiles, facade elements, doors, etc.

In transport engineering and in the production of white equipment, cold-rolled sheets are preferably used for the manufacture of body elements, bodies and power elements of vehicles and units. The cold rolled sheet must have good formability as well as a surface suitable for various types of coatings.

Cold-rolled sheet is used in the production of tableware, packaging materials, household goods for various purposes. Large consumers of cold-rolled steel are metal service centers serving various industries - from construction to instrument making. These enterprises, using high-precision automated lines, carry out cutting, bending, milling, drilling of products and parts, the initial workpiece for which is a cold-rolled steel sheet.

Classification, assortment and properties of cold-rolled sheet metal

Various country standards for cold rolled steel specifications, such as EN 10130, EN 10268, EN 10209, ASTM A1008/A1008M and others. their purpose, the level of mechanical properties, surface quality and other parameters of the cold-rolled sheet.

The most commonly used European standards for the production of cold rolled steel are EN 10130, EN 10268 and EN 10209.

The EN 10130 standard applies to mild steel sheets DC01, DC03, DC04, DC05, DC06, DC07 for cold working, uncoated, with a bar width of at least 600 mm and a minimum thickness of 0.35 mm.
